Is eel listed under CITES?

At the 20th Conference of the Parties to CITES (CoP20, Samarkand, November 2025), the proposal to list all Anguilla eels in Appendix II was not adopted. The European eel (Anguilla anguilla) has been in Appendix II since 2009. Check the current CITES Appendices at the time of export.
